拜年的時間一般為初一至初五,過了臘月初八就走親訪友多被視為拜早年,而正月初五以后、十五之前走親訪友為拜晚年 。早年和晚年都屬避免遺憾的應急或補救性質,民間有諺語:有心拜年十五不晚
